Science of sleep.
It's a family affair: what, if not the bed, is a family matter? We see it the same way and showcase the most comfortable, beautiful and natural sleeping places made by families.

Happy Autumn: Now the bed is once again becoming our absolute favorite place. A perfect reason, then, to take a look at classics and fantastic all-rounders. Best of all: all the beds are family-run and, thanks to years of experience and traditional craftsmanship, bring a great deal of know-how, privacy, elegance, and, of course, aesthetics to the room.
HÜSLER NEST: PIONEERS OF HEALTHY SLEEP
In 1982, Balthasar Hüsler began to grapple with a question that wouldn't let him go: What exactly is healthy sleep? Which lying position is ideal? And when do we wake up in the morning feeling truly refreshed? Hüsler ultimately found the answer in harmony – in the perfect interplay of various components that together form a coherent whole.
"A good morning begins in the evening." BALTHASAR HÜSLER
Armed with this knowledge, he created the first Hüsler Nest over 40 years ago. It became not only his personal source of strength, but also the foundation for the success of the Swiss premium brand.
In many ways, Balthasar Hüsler was ahead of his time: He was the first to recognize that a breathable and easy-care solution was possible by separating the wool topper from the mattress. The 40 x 60 cm pillow was also his idea – not for commercial reasons, but because he knew it was the best choice from an ergonomic point of view.
Today, his son Adrian Hüsler heads the Swiss company, continuing its operations into the second generation. His father's vision remains unchanged: harmony between man and nature is still central.
The Liforma sleep system from Hüsler Nest is available in three versions: The original with four individual modules consisting of slatted frame, spring element, mattress and topper, the deluxe version in which mattress and topper form a single unit, and finally the Liforma Designa in a box spring look.
You can find the brand's sleep systems at the Hüsler Nest Center in stilwerk Hamburg.
BRETZ: RESTFUL SLEEP MEETS INNOVATIVE DESIGN
Bretz beds are truly dreamy: In the tranquil town of Gensingen in Rhineland-Palatinate, this family business has been producing exceptional upholstered furniture since 1895. Their slogan "True Characters" is no coincidence – and these beds are truly unique.
We offer a counterpoint to minimalist architecture, giving every austere bedroom a decorative and emotional component.
Bretz now offers four bed models in its product portfolio: all – as one would expect – quite different in character. BALAAO, with its soap-bubble-like balloon structure, has a playful feel; CLOUD 7, with its futuristic form, seems to have sprung from the Space Age; FEYA exudes a touch of magic and impresses with its adjustable backrest; while CREOLE presents itself as majestic. The modular backrest can be individually configured and even used as a standalone wall object – from majestically expansive to compactly stacked.
What do all four models have in common? Uncompromising premium quality made in Germany. All beds, and indeed all Bretz products, are handcrafted. The wooden frames come from the Coburg region, the velour from Italy, Germany, and Belgium. The meticulously designed, multi-layered foam construction is complemented by a suitable slatted base, resulting in truly personal, individual favorites. The integrated sleep system in the beds meets the highest ergonomic standards.

LIGNE ROSET: SLEEP WELL À LA FRANCAISE
The traditional French brand Ligne Roset is now run by the great-grandchildren of its founder, Antoine Roset. Besides the brand's absolute classic – the TOGO sofa – they also offer a handful of truly exceptional beds. Among them is the DESDEMONE model, which is both thoroughly contemporary and timeless thanks to its elegant design. Cocooning and the bed office at its best.
For those who would like to try out sleeping in the bed right away, we recommend an overnight stay at the stilwerk Hotel Heimhude in Hamburg - here we have used DESDEMONE in various fabrics and colors.

Two other beds from Roset are RUCHÈ and HYPNA: very different in their design language, yet each very special in its own way. These high-quality pieces of furniture are still manufactured today in Briord, at the foot of the Bugey Mountains, near the Rhône. Ligne Roset places great emphasis on the finest materials and masterful craftsmanship.
You can find the brand's products at the Ligne Roset store in stilwerk Hamburg .
GOOD TO KNOW
The ideal bedroom climate is 18 degrees Celsius and 50 percent relative humidity. The bed should also be 20 cm longer than your height, and for hygiene reasons, a mattress should definitely be replaced after eight years. There are numerous options available (innerspring, latex, or memory foam), so trying them out is essential. After all, we spend a good third of our lives in bed, which isn't just for sleeping. Great minds like Voltaire and Rousseau were known to particularly enjoy working there. And inspiration in the morning from a restful sleep can never hurt.
Note: We cannot guarantee the availability of the listed models in the respective stores. If you are interested in trying them out, it is best to contact the store directly beforehand.
